why is my heart still beating fast this hour,
when i know well that you have been long gone.
it was a mere glimpse of such a flower,
but that was enough for my life to go on.
in the early morning you took a stroll,
and seeing me you smiled and waved your hand,
o, that gentle wave waked my lonely soul,
and my body was under your smiles' command.
how can i forget your beauty supreme: your brows,
your eyes, your lips, o, and your chin,
are all women's jealousy and men's dream,
o, heavenliness of your fairest skin.
tomorrow i'll stand on the morning dew,
hoping to get another glimpse of you.
